On January 16, 2018, the Government of PEI signed supply Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with three Licensed Producers (LPs): Canopy Growth Corp., Organigram Inc., and Canada’s Island Garden Inc.. These MOUs will ensure PEI customers have access to an adequate selection of safe, diverse, and high-quality cannabis products upon legalization. The province will continue to engage with additional LPs moving forward, and an LP registration process has been developed to initiate these discussions. LPs interested in having their products sold through PEI’s cannabis distribution framework should contact the PEILCC at email@example.com.
The PEILCC is evaluating all of its options/capabilities related to integrating its new business processes, system requirements, and reporting obligations related to cannabis operations with its existing infrastructure (e.g. existing POS system, existing accounting/financial suite, existing expertise, existing website, etc.). As this work continues, and if gaps are encountered, the PEILCC will evaluate offers/correspondence received from external solution providers and follow-up accordingly. Firms should indicated their interest to partner with the PEILCC by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The PEILCC has yet to finalize its plans as it relates to cannabis retail store operations, inclusive of those related to recruitment, staffing, and training. It is anticipated that more details on these factors will be released to the public in the coming months. In the interim, if you’d like to express interest in being considered for employment in the retailing of cannabis, please complete the Cannabis Retail Application Form, and drop off to the PEILCC’s corporate office at 3 Garfield Street in Charlottetown, or, email it to email@example.com.
Media questions related to the cannabis distribution model in PEI should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org.
