U.S. Products Update

December 10th, 2025

The Government of Prince Edward Island has directed PEI Liquor Control Commission (PEILCC) to place the existing inventory of American alcohol on shelves Thursday, December 11th with the net profits to be donated to food banks across the Island.

The provincial government anticipates that approximately $600,000 in net profit from the sale of the American alcohol will be returned to Government to be donated over the coming months. Cheques will be issued monthly beginning in January 2026 after sales have been finalized and expenses calculated.

“The coming months tend to be tough for many and I’m glad that we can support some of the people and organizations who do so much for Islanders in need. Like other provinces in the region, we are fully committed to Team Canada and are prioritizing our local producers retaining as much of their expanded shelf space as possible.”

— Minister of Finance Jill Burridge

The U.S. alcohol will be permitted for sale in all PEILCC corporate, agency and licensee stores as of Thursday, December 11th, although some locations may experience a delay due to shipping logistics. American alcohol will not be re-ordered.
