Serves 2-4

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup Jack Daniels
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Melt butter in a medium saucepan on medium heat. Add onion and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the whisky, the maple syrup, tomato paste, salt and pepper. Whisk to combine and bring to a low simmer.
  • Place chicken wings in a bowl and pour half of the sauce over the wings. Toss the wings with the sauce to coat. Arrange the wings evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Roast the wings for 20 minutes, then turn the wings over and roast them an additional 12- 15 minutes, or until nicely browned. Lower the heat or remove from oven if the wings start getting too dark.
  • While the wings are roasting, simmer the remaining sauce until it thickens slightly and can coat the back of a spoon, then remove from heat.
  • When wings are browned and cooked through, transfer them to a bowl and toss with the remaining sauce.
