The PEI Liquor Control Commission (PEILCC) raised a record $13,264 in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation during its 5th annual Paper Hearts campaign.“Islanders once again showed their generosity by donating during this important campaign,” said Hon. Allen Roach, the minister responsible for the PEILCC. “We realize that Islanders have many options for their charitable giving, so it is gratifying to see them support the Heart and Stroke Foundation with record donations through this campaign.”

The promotion throughout February provided the opportunity for PEILCC customers at the province’s 18 PEI Liquor retail outlets to purchase paper hearts in support of the Foundation’s mission. Funds raised will help the Foundation work toward our mission of preventing disease, saving lives and promoting recovery.

The previous record for donations in the five-year campaign was $9,972 raised in 2013. “It is always such a pleasure working with the staff of the PEILCC,” noted Crystal Cobb, Fund Development Coordinator, Heart and Stroke Foundation, PEI. “We are grateful for the support of corporate partners like the PEILCC and appreciate their willingness to partner with us to help us Create Survivors here on the Island.”
