La Sablette Muscadet

With the opening of the lobster season quickly approaching La Sablette Muscadet is the perfect pairing. La Sablette is a white wine from the Loire Valley in France, produced in the Muscadet Sevre-et-Maine appellation with the Burgundy Melon grape. This wine is aged on the lees (labelled sur lie). Sur Lie ageing is the process of allowing a finished wine to continue to sit on the lees, in order to extract flavor. Lees are dead yeast cells, leftover from the fermentation process.

This wine is dry, pale yellow in color and has an intense bouquet dominated by aromas of lemon. La Sablette has dry fruitiness, with green fruit and lime flavors. Muscadet is loved as an excellent food pairing wine due to its minerality, citrus like taste and acidity.
