PEILCC Casual Warehouse Worker
The purpose of this position is to provide basic maintenance service and to carry out general warehouse duties associated with the PEILCC Head Office / Warehouse complex, involving cleaning, maintenance of warehouse, and minor maintenance of remainder of facility and grounds.
Duties will include:
- Unload shipments of products from suppliers, includes unloading and staking cases of product from containers, unloading pallets from loads with fork lift, placing products in appropriate location in warehouse for rotation of stock;
- Preparing orders for retail stores with use of Mobile Supply Chain application which includes: interpreting store orders, operating warehouse equipment with safe operation of fork lifts and other handling equipment, compiling orders by stacking cases of product on pallets involving strenuous manual lifting;
- Ensuring proper stock rotation and performing physical as well as cycle inventory counts;
- Performing minor maintenance in warehouse/office area: collecting garbage and ensure it is properly sorted for recycling; cleaning up litter on property; sweeping warehouse floors when required;
- Picking sundry orders from all retail stores: obtaining sundry lists submitted to warehouse supervisor from stores; picking items from sundry storeroom to fill orders; placing sundry orders when liquor orders to be forwarded to stores;
- Clerical duties: assist senior warehouse worker with sorting and document Point of Sale add-ons; check and listing the breakage received both from retail stores and warehouse;
- Sort and prepare for delivery all Point of Sale material from the Marketing program destined for stores: obtaining a list of material from warehouse supervisor; preparing material for each store and placing on designated orders;
- Use of Mobile Supply Chain application.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent;
- Experience in the operation of material handling equipment, such as fork lift, order picker, manual pallet jack and electric pallet jack;
- Experience in routine maintenance on equipment and building facilities;
- Clean driving record;
- Capable of sustained physical activity, physically capable of lifting packaged merchandise weighing up to 20KGs for continuous periods of time;
- Ability to maintain a pick rate of 60 cases an hour;
- Ability to work unsupervised;
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team;
- Good previous work and attendance record;
Hourly Rate: $19.13 to $20.80 (plus 12% in lieu of sick and vacation benefits)
