Buttered Mushrooms

Makes 2 portions.


  • 1 cup halved button or cremini mushrooms
  • 1 cup shitake mushrooms, stems removed
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp balsamic or sherry vinegar
  • Salt and pepper


  • Heat a heavy-bottom skillet over medium heat. Add butter, then add garlic and sauté, stirring for 1 minute.
  • Add mushrooms and toss to coat with butter and garlic. Cook, stirring every minute, for about 5 minutes.
  • Add vinegar and stir to combine. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
